Anglicans Together Online has been established by Anglicans Together to provide a forum for the discussion of issues relevant to the Anglican Communion in general and the Diocese of Sydney in particular. The Diocese of Sydney occupies a major position in the Australian Anglican Church and in the Communion. Its strong, and often idiosyncratic, evangelicalism is forcefully expressed and supported by the academic work of Moore Theological College, where its clergy are trained.  Debate within the diocese is constrained by political pressures arising from the perceived need to protect its position against attack from more ‘liberal’ tendencies. For these reasons it is important that debate about issues arising from the diocese is located within the diocese itself.
